SYNOPSIS

Hilariously whimsical photos of dogs against eye-popping computer-generated backgrounds make for a bow-wow-wowie good time for babies and toddlers and their pet-loving parents. Full color.  For children under four.

AUTHOR'S NOTES

I put ads in the local newspapers to find models for Hot Dog and Cool Cat.  I found out very quickly that people love their pets!  I received five hundred responses from cat owners and three hundred responses from dog owners.  Of course, I love my pet, too, and Olive, my dog, is one of the dog models in Hot Dog.  She's the "swimming in the pool dog."

REVIEWS

Hot Dog and Cool Cat
Birmingham Post-Herald

"A bouncy rhyme and ridiculously silly photographs make a winning combination in two new board books, Hot Dog and Cool Cat. The author knows how to get a laugh from her young readers (and their parents). Just the rhyme can bring a smile: "Cool dog. Drool dog. Swimming in the pool dog." But it's the photographs of dogs and cats at play that will provoke howls of laughter from your little one, even as she or he commands, "Read it again!""
